Avonmouth Poster Revised.

Post- Crit changes to the Avonmouth poster. Smaller pt. size on the poster side, as well as bigger letter spacing. Taken away the " and the I THINK . Given the folding front cover text a swivell, and reduced the pt. size of some of the statements on the a3 side. See if you can spot the differences.

Stencil Cutout guides for project titled Sense of Place

Some more of last terms work... These are just the stencil guides for the finished three pieces which were rollered onto A1 card. The pieces had to show my allocated area (Ashton Rd.) at different times of the day, and include colour, and a person/people. I chose to focus on the pillars of the underside of the road, located in a park. The red dot is a person, solving the colour and person side of the brief. The pillars and road shadow solve the passing of time part.
I'll put up the final pieces on here soon because they look far better.

Sketchbook Scan.

Shoes with Feelings. Finished a2 layouts.

Avonmouth Poster

Been a while since i put anything up, so I've got some catching up to do...

The poster assignment was to visit a location on the bus...In my case it was Avonmouth. This is what I did using 10 statements i collected from local residents...

The poster folds from a5 up to a2, the two bottom images are the full a2 page layouts...

Type Specimen Leaflet Layout.

The Reflection typography project has evolved into something completely different (check out some of the work a few posts ago to see how). I ended up going down the route of waves, focusing on sound and light waves rather than water waves.

I eventually based the face on sonar and the 'echolocation' system that a bat uses because I loved the imagery in the diagrams explaining it.

This face also suited the online typography program 'fontstruct' compared to the other version I did, due to the straight lines. Have a look at the site and give it a go. Some people can do some incredible stuff using it with alot of time and patience (The best ones are done by UWE students.)

Shoes with Feelings (A2 folding page layout)

Needs some re-working, the front cover is pretty lame. Monumental Needs to be more monumental. Unattainable needs to be more unattainable. And subdued needs to be better photographed. Also the borders are gonna be changed to a single line on top or a line on top and below... Edges aren't cool.

More Layout experiments.

More Typography.

The project title i chose to work with was: Reflection. I created a typeface that could be constructed like a puzzle when creating a word. I thought of reflection as quite a random process, as to me reflection also brings in distortion of light/sound/water.

Some Typography Layouts.

Been a while since i posted any design work... So here goes...
